A Mother’s Dream
Our story begins with our mother’s dream: to create something lasting for her children, grandchildren, and community.
Giinagay Community Care
Giinagay Community Care offers steady, culturally grounded care for people, families, and communities looking for support that feels respectful, practical, and close to home.
About Giinagay
Giinagay Community Care is an Indigenous-owned, female-led, family-run organisation offering care shaped by culture, kinship, and genuine relationships.
We are an Indigenous-owned, female-led, family-run organisation offering care shaped by culture, kinship, and a deep understanding of community life.
Our work brings together practical support, cultural guidance, and safe spaces where people can feel heard, supported, and better connected to what matters most.

Culture and community guide the work.
Led with women’s cultural strength and family responsibility.
Support offered with safety and respect.
Legacy begins with family.
The story of Giinagay is a family story — one shaped by survival, culture, and the strength of women determined to leave something lasting for the generations coming next.
Our story begins with our mother’s dream: to create something lasting for her children, grandchildren, and community.
Her journey through loss, survival, and reconnection showed our family how culture can help restore identity, belonging, and strength.
Barrmarrany began as a cultural healing and wellbeing service, planting the first seed of what community-led support could become.
From that beginning, Giinagay Community Care grew into a broader support service shaped by family, community, and shared responsibility.
Today, that dream lives on in work that supports people now while helping build something stronger for the next generation.
Her story is our foundation.
Her resilience is our blueprint.
Her dream is now a living legacy.

What sets Giinagay apart is not only what we do, but the way our work is shaped by family, culture, experience, and accountability to community.

Our leadership is shaped by Eldership and women’s cultural strength, family responsibility, and a long view of what community needs to thrive.
What we offer is informed by real experience of hardship, healing, resilience, and rebuilding.
Culture is not an add-on to our work; it shapes the way care is understood, offered, and held.

We take care to create environments that feel safer, steadier, and more respectful for people carrying trauma.
Local knowledge, relationships, and accountability help guide our decisions and direction.
We look at the whole picture, supporting wellbeing across home life, relationships, culture, and everyday needs.
The way we work is grounded, steady, and relational — shaped by listening well, moving at a safe pace, and staying practical in the support we offer.

We start by understanding each person’s story, circumstances, and hopes before shaping what support should look like.
Care is built with culture, family, and community in mind, not separated from them.
We take a steady, respectful approach that makes room for trust, safety, and healing without pressure.
Alongside care and connection, we focus on useful next steps, clear follow-through, and support people can rely on.
Direction
One speaks to the future we want to help build. The other speaks to the way we show up in that work every day.
A future where Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities feel stronger in identity, safer in support, and more connected to culture, family, and possibility.
To provide respectful, culturally safe care that responds to real community needs through practical support, healing pathways, and strong relationships.
